By applying the greening knowledge at home and schools, we can help to market city, a greener city. Discarding computers, electrical appliances and rechargeable batteries can seriously harm the environment. Youth role is to implement recycling programmes for used computers and electrical appliances. You can arrange for collection services with them. There are also many collection points for recycling of rechargeable batteries, so do not simply throw them away. youth have a role to play in environmental and conservation efforts that will improve livelihoods and achieve sustainable development.

As we see in past, there are many more rules, laws, conventions are made for protecting environment but there is no effective implementation . For this implementation youth play vital role. Young people constitute a large part of the world’s population and young people will have to live longer with the consequences of current environmental decisions than will their elders. Future generations will also be affected by these decisions and the extent to which they have addressed concerns such as the depletion of resources, biodiversity loss, and long-lived radioactive wastes. Representing the concern of sustainability is difficult in context of policymaking and decision making in the present.

Environmental education is one way of equipping young people with the necessary cognitive skills to recognize and withstand the pressures of advertising. Aside from having a greater stake in the more distant future, young people are especially well-placed to promote environmental awareness simply because they often have better access to inform .Because youth have a stronger awareness of the issues and a greater stake in long-term sustainability, the environment is one area in which they ought to take the lead action about the environment than do their elders. The role of youth can be institutionalized in policy-making through advisory bodies. Thus Youth role is great role for conservation and protection of environment.

I was going to volunteer; man! I didn’t know what I was thinking. What a waste of time! Was I mad or something like that? I must have been out of my mind. Well or maybe it was the greed for certificates that made me think so. I just passed my 12th grade, what else could I think of? I wanted a well managed education and I just saw that chance abroad, not here! And I heard that a volunteering certificate could make it a lot easier for getting a scholarship. I just wanted certificates; as many as I could collect. Then I went on for it. I attended the orientation of National Youth Service of Youth Initiative, a volunteering program and also a volunteering platform. Even there, I was just concerned about a certificate and I just kept wondering when the presenters will jump to the certificate part. Well they did obviously and at the end I just registered myself for some opportunities if they came along! No sooner I got a call from them and there was my chance to just pile some certificates, I mean that’s what I thought then! I met with the presenters as they had called me for confirmation and a sort of counseling. My job was to go to the ‘Community Learning Center’ of Naga Tole, Pulchowk, Lalitpur and help the kids there with their homework and ECA for at least two months with 2 hours of service per day from 5p.m. to 7 p.m. each day excluding Saturdays. I thought to myself, “That’s it! That’s all I got to o. seems to be easy.” But who knew what lay ahead.
